Utlysningene er innen FHFs PiB-ordning. FHF satsing på automatisering lyses nå ut fordelt på to forskjellige områder.: «Utvikling av teknologi for automatisk kutting av flekket klippfisk» og «Teknologi utvikling for full-skala testing og full-automatisert produksjon av utvannet klippfisk/saltfisk»
FREMTIDENS KLIPPFISKPRODUKSJON
Klippfisk er den største produktkategorien i den norske hvitfisksektoren målt i mengde rund vekt og verdi. Sektoren står for ca. 60% av landingene av torsk, sei, lange og brosme fra norske fiskefartøy. En trussel mot denne kategoriens konkurransekraft er derfor en trussel mot landingene for hele hvitfiskflåten. Dagens produksjonsmetode er, med noen unntak, den samme som man hadde på 1960-70 tallet. Det er flere tunge operasjoner som fortsatt utføres manuelt. Gjennom de seneste årene har klippfiskmarkedet hatt en økende utvikling mot mer bearbeidede sluttprodukter, denne utviklingen skjer i flere av de største mottakerlandene for norsk klippfisk. En slik utvikling i markedene forventes å bare øke. På grunn av svært arbeidsintensiv produksjonsteknologi er ikke den norske næringen konkurransedyktig mot produksjon i lavkostland, og norsk næringen taper markedsandeler. En utvikling av ny teknologi vil i tillegg til å ivareta konkurransekraft, gi potensiale for å øke bearbeidingsgrad, foredling og verdiskaping i Norge. Derfor ligger alt til rette for at en strategisk satsing fra FHF vil kunne være et viktig bidrag til å oppnå en nødvendig utvikling innen sektoren.

The issue call is within NSRF “Industry projects” (IP). FHFs strategic effort on automatization is divided into two different topics: «the development of technology for the automatic cutting of split clipfish» and “The development of a full scale and fully automated pilot production line for desalting of clipfish/saltedfish portions”
Each year, Norwegian Seafood Research Fund (NSRF) identifies a strategic effort that is not part of ordinary activity within the whitefish, pelagic or aquaculture value chains.
This year, NSRF has defined the future clipfish production as such a venture, and it is lit up to NOK 8 million.
THE CLIPFISH PRODUCTiON OF THE FUTURE
Clipfish is the largest product category in the Norwegian whitefish sector measured in terms of round weight and value. The sector accounts for approx. 60% of landings of cod, haddoch, ling and task from Norwegian fishing vessels. A threat to this category's competitiveness is therefore a threat to landings for the entire whitefish fleet. Today's production method is, with some exceptions, the same as the 1960-70s. There are several heavy operations that are still performed manually. Over the past few years, the klipfish market has been increasing towards more processed end products, which is taking place in several of the largest recipient countries for Norwegian clipfish. Such development in the markets is expected to only increase. Due to highly labor intensive production technology, the Norwegian industry is not competitive with low-cost production, and the Norwegian industry loses market shares. In addition to safeguarding competitiveness, new technology will provide potential for increasing processing, processing and value creation in Norway. Therefore, everything is right for a strategic commitment from NSRF to be an important contribution to achieving a necessary development in the sector.
